- Washington's rivers offer sport fishermen many game fish to try their hand. Steelhead, walleye, channel catfish, perch, bluegill, northern pike, tiger muskellunge and salmon are among the types of fish to be found.
- Washington's lakes are also open to anglers. These lakes are home to large mouth bass, small mouth bass, crappie, rainbow trout, salmon, northern pike, tiger muskellunge and white sturgeon among other species.
- Washington's coastline gives fishermen all the sporting opportunities the Atlantic Ocean has to offer. Salmon, trout, sturgeon, bottomfish, halibut and tuna are some of the available fish. Fishermen have the chance to fish for shark as well. However, it is illegal to remove sixgill sharks from the water.
- Sport fishing in the state of Washington is regulated by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Be sure to check up to date regulation for closed seasons, bag limits, licensing information and rules specific to particular bodies of water.
