Editions by AOL Review
Editions is touted by AOL to be the "magazine that reads you", a slogan that relates to the app's ability to track the articles you read and customize the stories selected to meet your interests.
And for those who don't want to wait for the app to figure them out, Editions also makes it easy to tell the app what you like, from choosing tags after reading an article to simply going into the settings and specifying what you want.
Despite being an AOL product, Editions is not just a regurgitation of content found on AOL properties. Similar to apps like Fluent News, Editions is a news aggregator and reader, which means it scours the web for stories and puts them together for a daily edition. The stories are arranged like a magazine, with excerpts littering each page that give you a taste of writing, leaving the rest of the article available at the tap of a finger.
Editions is pretty, intuitive and does a great job with arranging the articles. It'll even learn your interests and put them closer to the beginning. But where it fails is in its inability to deliver many of the articles offline. This means if you want to download the newest edition to take with you, it'd better be an iPad 3G you are holding in your hand.
You likely won't be able to read much without a handy internet connection.
But for those who'd like to get all of the benefits of a Newsweek without the need to actually have a subscription, Editions can be a nice alternative.
