- 1). Download iTunes from the Apple website if it isn't already installed on your computer. Double-click the "iTunes Installer" and click "Install" to install the software on your computer. Open iTunes.
- 2). Click the "File" drop-down menu in iTunes and click "Add File" or "Add Folders." Browse your computer's hard drive for individual music files or folders that contain whole albums that you want to add to the iPod. Click "Open" to import them into iTunes.
- 3). Connect the iPod to the computer using its USB cable. Double-click on the iPod when it appears along the left side of iTunes. Click the "Sync" button that appears under the "Summary" tab in the main iTunes window.
- 4). Wait for iTunes to tell you the sync has completed. Disconnect the iPod from your computer and open its library to confirm that content from your computer has successfully copied to it.
