How to Stop an iPhone From Rebooting

    • 1). Press down on the "Home" and "Lock" buttons at the same time, but only until the "Slide to Power Off" bar appears on the top of the screen, which takes less than five seconds. Holding down longer restarts your iPhone completely. Slide the "Slide to Power Off" bar. Your iPhone shuts down, rather than re-starting.

    • 2). Wait for an iPhone you inadvertently re-start to re-boot; then hold down its "Lock" and "Home" buttons at once. Slide the "Slide to Power Off" bar.

    • 3). Disconnect the rebooting iPhone from its power source if you simply want it to power off, irrespective of whether or not you save the battery. Even if an iPhone has enough battery left to function for several minutes, iPhones with only a small percentage of remaining battery may not have enough to make it through the draining re-boot process.
