How to Drain Oil Out of a 3.0 Mercruiser

    • 1). Unscrew the oil fill cap on top of the engine block. Pull the dipstick out of the dip tube as well.

    • 2). Insert the drain tube into the dip tube and turn on the vacuum. Allow the pump to draw the oil out of the dip tube and into the drain pan until there is no more left in the engine block.

    • 3). Fill the 3.0 Mercruiser with the weight, amount and brand of oil recommended by the manufacturer in your owner's manual. Screw the fill cap back on and reinsert the dipstick.

    • 4). Check the dipstick to make sure the oil level is within the recommended range.
