Draw a circle. This will be the iris. At the center of this circle, draw a smaller circle. Don't shade anything yet; you'll need to erase some parts as you go. - 2

Draw an arc to serve as the top eyelid. The shape of the eye will change depending on how much it overlaps with the iris. If you draw it too low, the eye will appear sleepy, but if it doesn't overlap with the iris at all, it might look too angry or surprised. - 3). Add another arc beneath the eye, connecting its ends with the top eyelid. You should now have the basic shape of an eye.
- 4). Insert details, like the tear duct at the inner eye or an eyebrow above. The more details you add, the more realistic the eye will look.

Begin shading, starting with the darkest point, the pupil, and then moving to the iris. A good trick for the iris is to think of it as lines of shading moving outward from the pupil. - 6). Finish by adding a few more details, such as eyelashes. These will make the drawing even more realistic.
