- 1). Cut one drapery panel to the measurement of your window. Set this aside and lay out your remaining fabric.
- 2). Top the remaining fabric with the first drapery panel you cut. Place the two pieces so that the fabric pattern is going in the same direction, both horizontally and vertically, in each piece. Otherwise, the drapes will look mismatched when hanging side by side.
- 3). Move the cut panel around the remaining fabric until you find where the pattern repeats in the exact same way on each piece. Pin the two pieces together at this place.
- 4). Straighten out the curtain panel on top of the fabric. Line up a couple of other obvious patterns and put pins in place. Do this all down the length of the curtain to make sure the fabric will not slip when you cut.
- 5). Cut out the second curtain panel with the original curtain panel still on top. Cut the second panel in the same direction as the first panel.
