Multiple Uploads in Picasa With Firefox

    Five Photo Limit

    • Picasa Web used to have a five-photo limit for multiple photo uploads with Firefox. Users had to click a "Browse" button for each photo they wanted to upload, five times. Clicking yet another button would finally upload the photos. However, Picasa supports unlimited simultaneous photos uploads in Firefox as of November 2011.

    No Flash Offered

    • The reason Picasa Web users were so limited in their photo uploading options before 2011 was because the service offered no Flash uploader. Firefox has long depended on the Flash plugin for such tasks, so Firefox users were forced to upload photos manually. Internet Explorer users had no problem with multiple uploads, because Picasa Web supported Explorer's native ActiveX controls.

    Uploading Process

    • You can upload multiple photos in Picasa Web with Firefox by signing into Picasa Web and clicking the "Upload" button near the top of the page. Picasa Web lets you select as many photos as you want from a single folder on your hard drive, and upload them to a single album in Picasa Web.

    Alternatives

    • Since Google owns Picasa Web, some of Google's photo sharing services integrate with Picasa Web. For example, when you upload multiple photos in Google Buzz or Google Plus, those photos appear in your Picasa Web account as well. Firefox supports all of these services.
