How to Copy Music From Windows Media Player to an iPod

    • 1). Open both the Windows Media Player program and iTunes. Adjust the screens so you can place each program side-by-side.

    • 2). Click on the song titles in your Windows Media Player that you want to add to your iPod. Select multiple songs by holding down "Ctrl" while clicking on the song title with your mouse.

    • 3). Click on the highlighted song section and press down on the left mouse button while slowly dragging the playlist to your iTunes menu. Let go of the mouse button to drop them into iTunes. A dialog box will pop up, asking you if you want to convert the songs to the iTunes format. Select "Yes" to convert them. The conversion process takes a few minutes.

    • 4). Connect your iPod to the computer with the USB cable. Turn on the iPod.

    • 5). Go to "iPod > Music > Sync" on the main iTunes menu. Wait until you receive a message on iTunes that lets you know you can disconnect the iPod.

    • 6). Remove the USB cable and start listening to your new songs on your iPod.
