- 1). Close all of the doors, then insert the key into the car's ignition. Do not turn the car on until instructed to do so in following steps.
- 2). Press the "Unlock" button on the driver's-side door panel and continue to hold it until step 4. Perform step 3 as quickly as possible.
- 3). Turn the key's position to "On" and back to "Off," then repeat. The "On" position will be as far forward as you can turn the key before powering on your car's motor.
- 4). Release the "Unlock" button that you have been holding since step 2. Your car doors will lock and unlock themselves automatically. If you do not hear your car door locks locking and unlocking, repeat steps 1 through 3 until they respond.
- 5). Hold down both the remote's "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons until you hear the doors lock and unlock automatically again. You should hear the door locks within 30 seconds of completing this step. Repeat this step for any other remotes that you wish to program as well.
- 6). Turn the key forward another time to the "On" position. This will exit the Avalanche from its programming state, and allow you to test your newly programmed remote(s).
