- 1). Place a metal strainer on a small camera tripod so the opening of the strainer points toward you. In other words, the bowl must rest on its side while sitting on top of the tripod.
- 2). Fasten the strainer to the tripod by drilling a hole in the base through one of the strainer's holes. Next, attach the strainer by drilling a screw through the strainer's hole and through the tripod's base.
- 3). Attach a USB extender cable to a USB Wi-Fi adapter.
- 4). Fasten the USB W-Fi adapter with cable attached to the strainer with silicone caulking. Place the caulking at the base of the adapter, allowing the USB cable to protrude out from the strainer. Hold the adapter in place until the caulking cures.
- 5). Move the homemade signal booster around your home to different locations and change its tilt and height by altering the tripod's settings. Continue until you receive a stronger Wi-Fi signal. If the magnetron-based Wi-Fi signals come from your home, place the booster directly behind the wireless router with the strainer's opening pointed in the direction of your computer.
