How to Replace a Cabin Filter in a 2002 Chevy Impala

    • 1). Lift the windshield wipers to a standing position away from the windshield.

    • 2). Open the hood.

    • 3). Pull up the weather stripping that runs along the bottom of the windshield on the passenger side of the engine compartment.

    • 4). Unclip the windshield wiper fluid hose. It's attached in the three places that it covers the cowl cover on the passenger's side of the engine compartment, directly below the windshield.

    • 5). Unscrew the fittings on each side of the cowl cover. Remove the cowl cover from the engine compartment.

    • 6). Pull the old filter straight out of the filter compartment to remove it.

    • 7). Slide the new filter into the filter compartment.

    • 8). Replace the cowl cover. Screw the fittings back into place to hold the cowl cover down.

    • 9). Reposition the wiper fluid hose over the cowl cover. Clip the hose into the hose clips.

      Replace the weather stripping on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. Press down on the weather stripping to secure it into place.
