How to Make Flowers out of Polyester

    • 1). Soak the polyester fabric in the fabric stiffener and dry the fabric for one hour.

    • 2). Use a pencil to draw a heart that is 2 inches high and 1 1/2 inches wide on the index card.

    • 3). Cut out the index card heart, to be used as a flower petal pattern, with the scissors.

    • 4). Trace around the petal pattern on the polyester fabric with the pencil six times.

    • 5). Cut out the polyester petals with the scissors.

    • 6). Cut a 6-inch length of wire and bend the wire 1 inch from the end.

    • 7). Cut a 1-inch square of polyester, press the fabric over the bent wire and secure it by wrapping the floral tape around the wire for the flower center.

    • 8). Hold the heart end point of one polyester petal at the bottom edge of the flower center. Wrap floral tape around the end point to secure the petal. Attach the other five petals in the same manner, using as little tape as possible.

    • 9). Continue wrapping the entire length of wire with the floral tape for a flower stem.
