The DLO Shell for iPod nano is a hard plastic case that snaps around the second generation iPod nano. It’s a decent case, but doesn’t protect the Clickwheel and isn’t as well styled as other offerings from DLO or competitors.
The DLO Shell snaps around the iPod nano and has two backs, one standard and the other sporting a belt clip.
The case comes in five colors: clear, dark grey, blue, ink, and green. All cases are slightly transparent, letting you see the details of the nano through the color.
The design of the case, which leaves both ends open, makes it look like the nano should fall out easily. This isn’t the case. Even when I shook the case vigorously in an attempt to dislodge the nano, it stayed tightly in place. The case also leaves space for the headphone jack, hold button, and dock connector, meaning that the iPod can be docked even with the case on.
The case has just two major drawbacks: it doesn’t cover the Clickwheel and its styling isn’t great. The case covers the nano’s screen, which is important, but leaves the Clickwheel exposed to scratching.
The styling of the case leaves something to be desired. Almost all of DLO's cases are more stylish and appealing than this one, leaving me to think that style-conscious buys will opt for another product. Still, the DLO Shell for iPod nano provides decent protection for the iPod nano.
