How to Use Lucas Oil Stabilizers to Stop Oil Leaks

    • 1). For a minor leak park the vehicle on level ground. Lift the hood and remove the oil dipstick. Wipe the excess oil from the dipstick using the shop rag. Replace the dipstick then remove the dipstick again to get an accurate oil level reading. Add a sufficient amount of Lucas oil stabilizer to achieve the proper oil level required for the vehicle.

    • 2). For a severe oil leak position the automotive jack under the vehicle cross member or jack plate. Lift the vehicle and place the jack stands under the load bearing points of the vehicle. Examine the surface that is supporting the jack stands to be sure that there is no uneven ground or leaning jack stands. Remove the oil pan drain plug and allow the oil to drain into a proper pan.

    • 3). Replace the drain plug securely using proper torque specifications. Lift the hood and remove the oil fill cap. Place the funnel into the oil fill passage to the engine. Add the required amount of oil to the crankcase. It is advised to use twenty percent to sixty percent of the stabilizer to worn engines. It is safe to use up to one hundred percent Lucas stabilizer if needed.
