The John Deere 400CX loader is an optional attachment for use with the 48-horsepower John Deere 4320 compact tractor. The loader itself has attachments that incorporate useful design features and functions to make operation, installation and disassembly quick and easy. The 400CX loader additionally fits other tractors sized similarly to the 4320. - Key features of the John Deere 400CX loader are the patented Quik-Park mounting apparatus that permits easy attachment or removal of the loader from the tractor. A self-leveler mechanism keeps loads level when the boom is raised and lowered, providing more control and efficiency for operators. Additionally, optional loader attachments such as heavy-duty buckets, materials buckets, tined grapple buckets or four-in-one multifunction buckets make this loader exceptionally versatile. Optional 72-inch and 84-inch boom-mounted front blades help with extra-large or bulky loads. Compared to the John Deere 400X loader, this one delivers 25-30 percent more lifting capacity and are manufactured with improved materials like 6-millimeter-thick stainless steel that add tensile strength for durability.
- Prior to installing the 400CX loader attachment, a tractor must first get prepared for set up. Tractor prep includes checking tire pressure, alignment and tread wear. Any buckets in place need to be removed and mounting frames and hood guards installed. Preparing the loader is equally important for safe operation. Inspecting individual loader components like weight brackets and mounting frames and checking that hydraulic hoses are intact are considered essential preparatory steps.
- Safety specs are advised when attaching the John Deere 400CX loader to a tractor. The loader is first set into a stable position on the ground or on a platform, for tractor mounting, and then the tractor is driven into position to align with the loader. Once the tractor masts align with the mounting frames on the loader, the tractor parking brake is engaged with transmission placed in the park position, the engine is shut off and the key removed. These safety precautions are required to prevent any personal injury that may result during loader attachment. Hydraulic hoses are connected between the tractor and the loader according to the matching color-coded hose caps. End plates on the mounting frame are slid into place. Once they are positioned they won't slide out and the loader is ready for use.
