- 1). Check your connection. If the cord to your dial-up connection is loose, you can experience a loss of speed.
- 2). Avoid searching different tabs or windows at the same time. If you are downloading an item, close out all other downloads and tabs. This increases the speed of your Internet connection.
- 3). Clear out the cookies and cache files from your web browser. Typically this is done by clicking the "Tools" tab, then selecting the private data entry and removing the content. Doing so frees up your cache and increases browsing speed.
- 4). Use only one computer on the dial-up Internet connection. If you have multiple computers on the same connection, your download speed is going to become even slower than usual.
