- 1). Click the "Start" button, then click "Computer."
- 2). Right-click anywhere in the folder, then click "Add a Network Location."
- 3). Click "Choose a custom network location" in the wizard, and then click "Next."
- 4). Type in the address of the FTP site, in the form of "ftp://username.domain" and then click "Next."
- 5). Type in your login name and password, or if you are logging into a public FTP site, type "user" and "anonymous" and then click "Next." This sets up a shortcut to the FTP site, which Windows Vista will then open up a connection to. Shortcuts to FTP sites appear in the "Computer" folder, and you can drag them to your desktop for future use.
- 6). Click on a folder in the FTP site's directory, and drag files from it to your hard drive, or drag files from your hard drive to a folder on the FTP site to copy files to it.
