- The perennial, native shrub produces masses of fragrant white blooms beginning in May and continuing into July. The scent of the flowers makes the bushes ideal for placement along heavily trafficked approaches, such as sidewalks and driveways.
- Homeowners with little space for landscaping plants may choose from several dwarf varieties of mockorange, including Dwarf Snowflake, Miniature Snowflake and Littleleaf. Dwarf Snowflake produces double blooms. Littleleaf features star-shaped flowers.
- Mockorange bushes grow best and bloom most prolifically in full sun and well-drained soil. The plants need space to spread. Full-size mockorange reaches 6 to 8 feet in height and width. Pruning the largest stems encourages the bush to fill in from the bottom up, giving you a bush full of flowers come springtime.
