- Use green linguine to make "seaweed" pasta. Cook the noodles and place them in a bowl. Heat up marinara and Alfredo sauce to place in two separate bowls. Put the sauces beside the noodles and guests can add the sauce of their choice to the seaweed pasta.
- Cut long carrots into quarters lengthwise and slice a cucumber into round slices. Use the carrot to poke a hole in the cucumber and slide the cucumber slice down the carrot stick. Leave a small space at the end of the carrot stick to resemble the sword handle. Serve the swords on a tray around ranch dip.
- Wash celery stalks and cut into 6-inch pieces. Fill the celery with peanut butter and top with raisins or chocolate chips.
- Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise or mustard on several tortillas. Layer cheese and lunch meat on each one. Roll the tortillas up and place them in the refrigerator for about an hour. This makes them harden and easier to cut. Cut the tortillas into 1-inch slices and place on a serving tray. Create small triangles out of white paper and glue them to the top of toothpicks. Place the "masts" (toothpicks) in the pinwheels for added decoration.
- Cut long slips about 3/4 the way down several hot dog wieners. Place them in boiling water and the strips will curl up. Sit the "octopuses" on a serving tray and use ketchup or mustard to draw two eyes on each one. Another hot dog idea is to make hot dogs using buns and sit them in a serving tray. Break wooden skewers in half and glue white paper triangles to the skewers to create a schooner sail. Stick the sails in the ends of the hot dogs.
- Pour red fruit punch in ice cube trays the night before the party. Place two or three red ice cubes in a clear plastic cup and pour lemon-lime soda over the cubes to make shark blood drinks.
