- Quincy Market is widely known for its shopping and dining opportunities. The modern Quincy Market, as of January 2011, has about 100 stores and vendors in addition to nearly 20 restaurants and pubs. Shopping can include anything from an upscale department store or boutique to a vendor with a cart selling Boston souvenirs. During the warm weather, outdoor entertainment can be found outside Quincy Market, such as live music.
- Faneuil Hall, like Quincy Market, offers a variety of activities for tourists and residents alike to partake in. Like its neighbor and fellow member of the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall also features a variety of shops, stores, restaurants and a food court. Winter visitors can go ice skating at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. You could also find yourself entertained by a juggler, musician or by the works of an artist.
- Take an after dinner or lunch walk after leaving the Quincy Market at the The Charles River Esplanade. The Charles River Esplanade offers Boston visitors 17 miles of walking along the river's edge. From there, tourists can view a variety of sailboats as well as racing crews from colleges and universities. During summer, the Hatch Memorial Shell offers free concerts filled with live music for the public.
- Boston boasts an annual two-day regatta with the Head of the Charles Regatta, which is in October. During this time visitors can watch the approximately 700 events featured during these days. Tourists can watch local and international rowing teams race to a finish from viewpoints on the river banks a short walk from Quincy Market. The events are free to the nearly 300,000 spectators that typically show up for the events.
