I've been getting into blogging a lot more lately and I've been really enjoying it. However the thing I haven't been enjoying is how confusing some of these websites can be. I don't want to have to jump through a lot of hoops just to write a post. I want to blog quickly and efficiently.

Because I do this for enjoyment, I don't want to have to feel like I'm doing work. Some websites require you to set up complicated accounts and force you to choose all kinds of settings that don't make sense half the time. I found a couple websites that say they are great for blogging, but you have to write your own HTML code. It may not sound like a big deal, but I find myself spending 20 minutes researching code just to add a single thing to my blog post. If I constantly have to do extra work and research to blog, eventually I won't enjoy it as much.

I'm not saying these websites are bad, and maybe they have some great features, but it's not for me. There are probably people out there who really enjoy learning and writing code so those websites would be perfect for them. To me, none of it makes sense. I've tried to understand HTML and JavaScript, but a lot of the words or phrases used seem very arbitrarily chosen, as if a mad man slammed his face onto the keyboard and decided that's how website code should look.

It's just not something I understand, and that's okay. I think one of the most important things to think about when choosing a blogging website is you have to figure out what works best for you.
