- 1). Blow up a round latex balloon until it reaches 18 inches in length. Tie a knot at the end of the balloon to keep the air from escaping.
- 2). Tear 1-inch wide strips from old sheets of newspaper.
- 3). Combine 2 cups of flour with 4 cups of water in a bowl to create a paste.
- 4). Place the balloon on a bowl. Dip the newspaper strips into the paste. Remove excess paste with your fingers and place the strips onto the balloon. Smooth out the pieces of newspaper.
- 5). Cover the balloon entirely with newspaper strips, then add another layer of newspaper strips. Allow the basket to dry overnight.
- 6). Hold the balloon by its knot so that the top of it faces down. Draw a horizontal line with a marker around the balloon where you want the top of the Easter basket to be.
- 7). Draw a handle from the horizontal line that goes from one side of the balloon over the top to the line on the other side of the balloon. You will need to make two parallel lines spaced at least 1 inch apart from each other to create the handle.
- 8). Cut the knot at the end of the balloon. Cut out the sections between the handle and the top of the basket. Discard the remnants of the balloon.
- 9). Paint the basket with craft paint. Add Easter grass to the basket and candy and toys.
