- 1). Place a large baby blanket in the bottom of the hamper. You can also use a large rectangular wicker basket in place of the hamper.
- 2). Tape the ends of a long thin cardboard box together and wrap it in brightly decorated baby shower wrapping paper. Use a sharp knife to make a slot in one end of the cardboard box.
- 3). Place the cardboard box into the hamper on one side. Place a baby blanket underneath the box to add height if the box is not tall enough to reach the top of the hamper. Guests offering cards or monetary gifts can insert these into the slot in the box.
- 4). Fill the rest of the hamper approximately half-way full with baby items as your gift to the new mother or mother-to-be.
- 5). Hang a variety of baby items on the outside of the hamper or basket with clothes pins or decorative ribbons attached to pins.
- 1). Tape the ends of a large square cardboard box together.
- 2). Cover each side of the box with a different colored or patterned baby-themed wrapping paper.
- 3). Cut a slot into the center of one side of the box with a knife.
- 4). Stick an "A" sticker on one side of the box and an "a" on another side. Use picture stickers of things that start with the letter "A" on the center of the remaining sides to imitate a children's building block. Alternatively, use stencils and paint pictures and letters onto the box.
- 5). Cover two more boxes in different colored or patterned wrapping paper. Use letter "B" and pictures of things that start with that letter on one of the boxes and the letter "C" and corresponding pictures on the other box. Attach the boxes together using tape or strong craft glue with the box with the slot in front.
