So you've made the decision; you don't want to deal with the hassle of a real Christmas tree.
There are so many reasons why you should make the switch to artificial: 1.
Fire hazard.
Real trees tend to dry out very quickly if you don't keep watering the base.
When they dry, they are then quite flammable.
There are hundreds of fires every year around the United States that are caused by real Christmas trees.
2.
You can use the same tree over and over.
Instead of spending the money on a real tree every year why not buy an artificial tree and use it year after year? To me, it's a no-brainer.
OK, so you've bought that beautiful new artificial Christmas Tree.
What's the first thing you do? My advice is to be careful opening the box, and take care to lay out each individual piece.
You want to make sure that everything is in the box; there is nothing worse than trying to put a whole tree together, and a piece is missing.
Remember to be organized, and be very gentle in taking the pieces out of the box, as they can be easily damaged.
Also, remember that most trees carry a 3-5 year warranty, but you have to remember to actually fill out the registration! That is usually easily done online, but you can mail it in, if you prefer.
I would recommend building your tree on a table that is a comfortable height.
It is very hard to stay bent for a long period of time as you assemble a tree.
You might as well be comfortable! Also, it is much easier to shape the branches if they are at waist level.
You won't get tired too quickly, and you'll be able to put more energy into building the tree.
When you pull the plastic off the tree, remember to keep your hands on the branches.
Most artificial Christmas trees are prelit.
You don't want to have a situation where the lights suddenly come falling off the tree because you didn't let the branches down gently! When you start to shape the tree, make sure you work from the pole out to the edges.
You always want to make sure that the tree looks full on the interior section of the tree, before you concentrate on the exterior portion.
Make sure that when you shape your tree that you have one branch up, and two branches down.
That will give you the desired look that you want.
I hope this advice is helpful; have a great Christmas!
