How to Wire a Bose Acoustimass 10 Series II

    Place Speakers

    • 1). Place the Acoustimass module next to your television unit and leave enough space for you to access the back of the module when you need to connect the cables.

    • 2). Place one speaker as close to the television as possible. It is best located either above or below the center of the television.

    • 3). Place another two speakers at least 6 feet apart, one on either side of the television.

    • 4). Place the two remaining speakers on either side of your couch or wherever you sit when you use them.

    Connect Speakers to Acoustimass Module

    • 1). Locate the cable connected to the back of the Acoustimass module that contains three pairs of wires attached to each other. One pair is labeled "Left", another "Center" and the last one "Right."

    • 2). Peel apart the three pairs of wires enough so that they can reach the left, center and right speakers next to your television. The wires marked "Left" must connect to the speaker on your left as you face the TV. The wires marked "Right" must connect to the speaker on your right as you face the TV.

    • 3). Push down the tab on the back of the each of the three speakers to open the wire inputs, and insert the end of the plain wire into the black hole and the end of the patterned wire into the red hole. Release the tab to fix the wires in place.

    • 4). Locate the cable connected to the back of the Acoustimass module that contains two pairs of wires attached to each other. One pair is labeled "Left Surround" and the other is labeled "Right Surround."

    • 5). Peel apart the pairs of wires, and connect the wires to the speakers that you placed on either side of your couch. As before, connect the plain wire to the black hole and the patterned wire to the red hole of each speaker.

    Connect Acoustimass Module to Receiver

    • 1). Locate the cable connected to the back of the Acoustimass module that contains five pairs of wires attached to each other.

    • 2). Connect the wires labeled "Left" to the appropriate input on the back of your receiver. This is often called "Left Front" or similar, but this varies depending on your receiver. Be sure to connect the wire marked with a "+" to the positive input and the wire marked "-" to the negative input.

    • 3). Connect the wires labeled "Right Front" and the wires labeled "Center" to the appropriate inputs on the back of your receiver as before.

    • 4). Connect the wires labeled "Left Surround" and the wires labeled "Right Surround" to the appropriate inputs on the back of your receiver or amplifier. These inputs will be labeled "Left Rear" and "Right Rear" or similar, but varies depending on your receiver.

    • 5). Connect your receiver to a power outlet after you have finished connecting the Acoustimass module to complete your setup.
