Things You'll Need
Instructions
1Make sure the man's hair is still damp. This will allow you to blend the haircut better. If it's dried, spray it with your water bottle.
2
Look over the haircut and determine where you need to blend it. Most likely it'll be along the sides of the head, where your short layers meet the longer hair on top.
3
Comb the hair with the finer part of the comb so that it's perpendicular to the floor. Hold it between your index finger and middle finger.
4
Cut along your finger. Keep in mind that you want the hair to be shorter toward the hairline and longer toward the top of the head. This is called layering.
5
Keep your comb moving consistently around the head. This will ensure that you get all the hair around the head layered and blended.
6
Check the head to make sure you've blended it thoroughly. Eye it to make sure there's no hair that's longer than the rest.
7
Run your comb along the hair, from the bottom to the top. Use it to pull the hair from the head. Cut along the comb line to blend it even more.
