- 1). Place your pedal board on the floor, to the left of the M13. Plug a 1/4-inch instrument cable into the input of the first pedal on the board, which is the pedal farthest to the right and typically the tuner pedal. Connect the output of the tuner to the input next pedal with a 1/4-inch patch lead, which is a small version of a guitar cable for connecting pedals.
- 2). Connect the remaining pedals with patch leads between their respective outputs and input jacks. Connect a standard 1/4-inch jack cable to the output of the last pedal on the board, which is the pedal farthest to the left. If it has a stereo out jack, connect a second instrument cable.
- 3). Power the pedals. The method for powering the pedals depends on your pedal board configuration. If you have a Boss TU 2 tuner, for example, you can connect a power adapter to that pedal and then run a daisy-chain cable from the tuner to all subsequent pedals. Otherwise, connect a power adapter or power splitter cable to each pedal.
- 4). Connect the cable attached to the last pedal on the board to the input jack on the Line 6 M13. If the last pedal has one output jack, connect the cable to the mono input jack on the M13, which is located on the back panel and is the third jack across from the power switch. If you are connecting a stereo output, connect one cable to the mono jack and one cable to the second input.
- 5). Connect a 1/4-inch jack cable to the output jack of the M13. If you are running the M13 into two separate amps, connect a second cable to the stereo out jack next to the mono output jack. These jacks are located on the back panel. Connect a 12-volt power adapter to the connector on the rear.
- 6). Turn on the pedal board power supplies, and turn on the M13 power switch located on the rear.
