Execute What God Has Given You

What does it mean to carry the anointing? All Christians are carrying the anointing that God has given them.
What we do with that anointing is another story.
The anointing of God is to be used for the good of the kingdom.
Each man and woman of God must allow the anointing to fulfill its purpose and reach its place of destination.
If it does not fulfill its purpose and reach its destination, it is a waste.
When we carry the anointing of God, we carry power.
The anointing of God puts us on another level.
There are many people that think that we can not perform certain tasks that God has put in front of us.
That may be the case if the anointing was not there.
That just may be the case if the power of God was not working through us.
We must not allow that anointing to leave us because we are not completing the task(s) in which the anointing was given to us for.
To anoint means to rub, smear, or to pour on.
God rubs, smears, and pours His power on us so that we may have power.
Even when we are feeling powerless, the anointing on God can empower us to do things that we would never imagine.
God's anointing takes us to another level in Him.
Are we ready to fulfill the destiny of the anointing that was given to us? Are we ready to do what we were called to do? Are we ready to go where God leads us no matter what we are up against? Many are called but few are chosen.
Are you one of the chosen to carry out to the goal? God is giving us the tools and resources to allow manifestation to take place according to His will.
He is using His chosen vessels to accomplish the task(s) at hand.
In the beginning of Matthew 26, Jesus tells his disciples that He will be betrayed by one of them (Judas) so that the crucifixion process can begin.
Right after that, the church folk assembled together at Caiaphas' palace.
The church folk decided not to kill him on the day of the Feast of the Passover.
They had to get Jesus to a place in which the crowd would not be around so that there will not be a riot (Garden of Gethsemane).
Even before that, Jesus had just brought Lazarus back to life.
Lazarus was resurrected.
Has God brought you back to life out of a dead situation? The reason that God revived you is because He has appointed and anointed you to fulfill the purpose of your life.
Matthew 26:6 tells us that Jesus was in Bethany at the time.
He was fellowshipping at the house of Simon the leper (Pharisee).
Simon had that nickname for a reason.
Theologians say that Simon the leper had leprosy but Jesus cured him.
I take it that he continued to carry the name.
Many of us have nicknames from our past that lingers with us throughout our lives.
In this scripture, I see Jesus setting an example for the disciples to follow before He dies.
Many times, we have a tendency to stray away from people who have leprosy.
In the biblical days, everyone scattered when a leper entered the area.
The leper would have to scream out "unclean" three times.
People got to moving quickly.
It was a contagious disease.
We have to keep in mind that we were all unclean at one time in our lives.
We all have been touched by leprosy.
We were unclean but Jesus cleansed us by His blood.
How are we treating others around us that may not look like us, talk like us, act like us.
Are we praying that they may be healed from their sickness or uncleanliness? Jews, in that day, only hung around certain people.
It did not look good to hang around non-Jews.
Jesus associated with all.
His purpose was to cleanse all those who wanted to be cleansed.
God, the Father, anointed Jesus to give Him power to complete the task.
God has given us that same power to bring change into the lives of others.
In Matthew 26:7, Mary walks in among men.
She is carrying a very expensive bottle of alabaster perfume.
She came unto Jesus and anoints His head.
She sought after Jesus.
In this time period, women had no status.
They had the same status of a slave.
She was brave in what she did.
The reason that she was brave was that she was carrying the anointing with her (alabaster perfume).
Anointing oil could be olive oil or perfumed oil.
The anointing of God gives you strength in the midst of weakness.
The anointing gives you power to handle whatever situation that you come up against.
Even when you feel that you have no status or that you do not stand up against the opposition, God gives you the anointing power to qualify you for any task at hand.
No obstacle is too great for you when you walk with the anointing of God.
It is often people that we would not think is qualified to complete the task.
But the anointing of God evens the playing field.
Not only does the anointing give us power, but it gives us authorization to restricted places (where other people don't think that you belong).
The anointing brings healing to the sick.
The anointing brings deliverance and breaks strongholds.
The anointing brings peace in the midst of turmoil.
It is also used as preparation for Jesus' burial.
The anointing oil is not the power source but it is the power of God using the oil as a point of contact.
The woman pours the bottle of perfumed oil on Jesus' head.
She fulfills her purpose.
Her purpose is to anoint the head of Jesus to prepare for His burial.
Are we fulfilling our purpose in life? What is holding us back? When we do not fulfill our purpose in life, God replaces us with someone else that will fulfill that same purpose.
The anointing never dies but it will be transferred to someone who will use it to its full potential.
Saul was anointed king but did not fulfill his purpose.
God appointed and anointed David king to fulfill the purpose of the anointing that Saul did not fulfill.
The box of perfume costs about $20k in today's wages.
It was very expensive.
How precious is the anointing that God has given to you? Are we doing what we need to do with the anointing that we have? Are we using that anointing for things that are outside of the will of God? This woman knew what the will of God was for her life and she took it head on.
There was no procrastination in her.
The anointing of Jesus' head was a form of worship.
God will allow things to happen in our lives for us to get to the point where we give him praise and worship.
Remember, Jesus had just brought Lazarus, her brother, back to life.
Has God brought healing to you or people around you lately? That is reason to give him worship and praise.
Let's look at this from another angle.
That box of alabaster was a huge sacrifice.
She is giving Jesus her all.
Are we giving God are all? It does not have to be all monetary.
Your all can be in your prayer life, your worship, your praise, your time in the word of God.
We must all step it up as did this woman that anointed the head of Jesus.
Have you ever thought about why perfumed oil was used to anoint Jesus' head? It is the pleasant smell of the offering.
In the Old Testament, burnt offering was made with unblemished animals.
God loved the smell of the burnt offerings.
God still loves the smell of the offerings in the New Testament.
The perfumed oil is expensive (unblemished) and it has a very pleasant smell.
God is pleased with that as you find out in the later verses.
In verse 7, Jesus is at the home of a Pharisee (enemy) eating dinner and gets His head anointed with oil.
The perfumed oil runs downs His head.
I have heard of a similar verse in Psalm 23:5.
Psalm 23:5 says, "Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
" This confirms to us that we do not have to worry about anything.
Even when we are in the presence of our enemies, we can sit back and relax because God is protecting us.
Matthew 26:8 states that when the disciples seen Mary pouring the perfumed oil on Jesus' head, they had indignation.
What is indignation? Indignation is having anger towards something that is unjust.
So, the disciples were angry for something that they thought was unjust.
They thought that Mary pouring the perfumed oil on Jesus' head was unjust.
The disciples said that the pouring of oil was a waste.
In the later scriptures, Jesus said that Mary did a good work.
What the disciples thought was unjust, God thought it was just.
Really, the disciples were angry for nothing.
They had some things twisted in the head.
Sometimes, we think that we know what to do in every situation.
We find out here that they are wrong in their thinking.
Mary carried her anointing with her and allowed the anointing that she had to fulfill its purpose.
When our thinking is wrong, the anointing that we have do not fulfill its purpose.
The disciples said that she wasted the anointing.
God said that she used her anointing wisely.
What are we doing with the anointing that we have? Is God pleased? If our minds are not right, our anointing will go to waste.
In Matthew 26:9, the disciples said that the box of alabaster could have been sold for much and given to the poor.
The disciples are not pleased with what they saw.
Jesus is pleased with what was done.
All anointing giving to us does not have the same destination point.
The anointing can be utilized for different things.
Some anointing will be used for the poor.
Some people are anointed to go out and help the poor.
Some people carry a different anointing.
Their anointing have a different purpose attached to it.
Some people carry the anointing that build new churches (apostle).
The Apostle Paul was a tent maker (Acts 18).
Tabernacles were tents used for temporary places of worship.
The apostle is anointed to ground the church in truth.
Someone else may carry the anointing of prophesy.
The prophet reveals or interprets the will of God for our lives.
Some can carry the anointing to evangelize.
Evangelists carry an anointing to go out and reach people out in the community (outreach).
Some carry the anointing to pastor the church once the people are there.
The pastor is anointed to care for the sheep (congregation).
The pastor is the overseer or leader in the church.
The pastor also feeds the sheep.
The teacher carries an anointing to teach and bring instruction to the body of Christ.
The teacher teaches the ways of God to all whom has an ear to hear the Lord.
The anointing that God has given each one of us is precious.
We must carry that anointing and allow the anointing to be utilized correctly and to reach its place of destiny.
In the end, God is pleased and a reward is awaiting those who obey His word.
