How to Change the Spark Plugs on a 2003 Nissan Altima

Things You'll Need

Instructions

1

Lift the hood and prop it open. Detach the negative battery cable to prevent shorts.
2

Tear six small strips of paper and number them 1 through 6. Tape each piece of paper to a corresponding spark plug wire in the order that they sit on your manifold. This will ensure that you reconnect the wires and spark plugs correctly later on.
3

Remove the spark plug wires from your plugs and set the wires aside, out of your way. The spark plug wires snap off by hand.
4

Remove the plugs with a spark plug wrench.
5

Hand-start the new plugs, then tighten them with a spark plug wrench.
6

Attach the spark plug wires to the corresponding new spark plugs.
7

Reattach the negative battery cable.
