• Identify a shady person on the spot to avoid heartache later. If the person takes on a few distinct gestures when speaking or answering a question, it may indicate the person is lying. Delayed responses, a stiffened face, avoidance of eye contact and face rubbing or touching are all indicators of untruthfulness. The face may become pale and the heart rate may increase. However, some people are such good liars, it can be hard to detect, so also check for consistency in things they say. • What is circulating in the air waves about your new man? If more than a couple of your friends, or his, are giving him bad reviews, chances are you will end up doing the same down the road. Additionally, a man who gives bad word of mouth likely extends the favor toward you in the long run. When men complain of too many "crazy exes," they're usually the root of the problem and are best avoided.

• Does he drop off the radar? Even if he is not constantly out of the picture, a man who escapes without making himself available for contact with others is up to something: He's likely suffering from an addiction or unfaithful. He loses even more points for having two phones or taking constant phone calls in another room. • A man who is ever-ready to dish out blame and accuse you of the worst is bad news, especially if you have been nothing but good to him.
