How to Make a Tulle Pom-Pom for Gift Wrap

  • 1). Cut a length of tulle 2 1/2 yards long. Cut a piece of cardboard 4 inches by 6 inches.

  • 2). Wind the entire length of tulle around the cardboard, then carefully slide it off.

  • 3). Tie a strong piece of thread or string around the center of the wrapped tulle. The looped sides of the tulle should be on the outside, forming a bow shape. Leave the loose ends of the thread hanging down.

  • 4). Insert your scissors through all the loops on one side of your bow. Carefully cut through all the layers of tulle. Do the same on the other side. Don't cut off the loose ends of thread.

  • 5). Pull the layers of tulle toward the center one layer at a time to open up your poof.

  • 6). Shape your poof into a sphere shape by trimming the edges with your scissors.

  • 7). Use the hanging threads to tie your poof onto your package.
