Allow me to start this article by sharing a true to life story. It could be just any short story, but here is a story of one John Woo (not the famous director for action movies) a near death experience. Mr. Woo's idea of a complete meal is to drink an extra gin and rum before every dinner. This was his routine for years and years until one fateful day. And then, three weeks before they came to consult me as their personal health adviser, this did happen. John was takingout the garbage one morning. Suddenly, he had a chest pain which was very severe. It was so serious that he almost, yelled out for an emergency ambulance.
Instead, his neighbors bundle him into their car and quickly wheeled him to a nearby clinic. It was then they (Woo's friends) understood that's the time to do something drastic for him. Because the neighbor's love and care for Woo's fast deteriorating condition they decided to have him quickly treated in a nearby clinic.If the delay was an hour or two later, his neighbor and I would have to attend Mr. Woo's funeral and not in the clinic! Period!
Can we pause here a minute? Please consider this scenario. Are you in the shoes of Mr. Woo? If you are, then you too must have reasons forwanting to do some form of dieting program. Believe me, any good weight loss therapy will really change the way you will live and eat. You can bet your eyeballs on that!
To relate my personal experience, allow me to share my past history. Back in the days when I was a sickly carnivore, I never would have done anything about my eating habits. And if I hadn't been overweight and tired and disgusted with the condition of my ornery stomach.
If you sincerely want to work on the many reasons for making the changes recommended, then absorb fully the five killer reasons. And to reconsider your renewed efforts to embark again on a more serious dieting program.
Enough of preaching at least for now! Let's delve into the first reason why you must reconsider seriously taking up another good weight loss program, if you have not done so!

Reason No. 1 to reconsider dieting: Illness:
Correct me if I am wrong. We must always think first of this life-preserving reason. Abundant and ever-mounting evidence shows that the continuous consumption of rich foods increases your risk of developing heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, some forms of cancer, and other degenerative diseases. So what I am saying is that we must not take good health for granted. Prevention is better than cure. Lucky for you! Since you have the chance to read this article, you are one up against others who have not taken the trouble to open their email to read this. Right?

Reason No. 2 to reconsider dieting: Pain:
Keep your chin up as you read this. What I am going to say may or may not apply to you personal. And please don't take it personally. I sincerely hope you don't yet suffer from the pain of serious illness, but even the lesser pain that comes with headaches, mild arthritis, constipation, and fatigue is no laughing matter. You'll find that diet is usually closely related to such problems.
Although pain is good at times, but suffering from pain or ailment frequently is no joking matter! Pain is good when it tell us that we have mistreated our body. Does it somewhat straighten the records? Simple, isn't it. Can we march forward to the next reason why we must reconsider dieting?

Reason No. 3 to reconsider dieting: Ugliness:
This reason is no big secrets, no great luck nor a grand slam home run. It is just this! If you suffer from a weight problem, your chance of controlling it on a diet high in fats is as poor as you've always suspected it to be. Increased body odor and oily skin are also consequences of the diet Americans and Asians take for granted. One patient of mine was a woman whose husband threatened to divorce her because he said she "stunk."
After she changed her diet, she smelled as sweet as a basketful of fresh fruit. Could we just say that food and dieting did save their marriage? Trust me; it is often said 'Knowing the problem is half solving it' Period!
Let's give a shout to the next reason.
Reason No. 4 to reconsider dieting: Money:

Let me share a secret with you. What I about to tell you may rub you the wrong way, but do bear with me. Although this doesn't apply to most of you, many people eat meat and dairy products only because they have been told they ought to for the sake of a "balanced diet." Some people find the taste of fish repugnant, others just don't get excited about any sort of meat or eggs or smelly cheese. If you are one of those long suffering people victimized by food rather than helped by them here is your chance to change to a 'diet that will discard the things you've never really liked.
Let's summarize in a neat nutshell. However, I want to tell you that this paragraph is very important. It's so important that I will not apologize if I have to repeat this again. The first reason to reconsider to diet is danger of given in to unnecessary illness. The second reason would be the avoidance of unnecessary pain or in military language 'shooting oneself in the foot'. The next reason of course is exposing oneself to ugliness. We can strive to be beautiful both inside and outside but it depends on how we eat, drink and keep our body well. Money which the fourth reason is none other than the 'Almighty Dollar'. Of course, at the initial stages money must be invested in acquiring a healthy life. Ultimately, in the long run, it will save use tons of money in cutting down on unnecessary medical expenses and etc. Finally the next reason of course is the matter of 'taste'. In short eat what you like. Not allowing other tells you to. Of course, plus to remember to take food and drinks that are nutritious and in moderations.

To be brutally honest, from this point onwards life won't be problem free but you're now more knowledgeable to handle whatever comes your way. Don't rest on your laurels, though.
