What type of jewelry do you sell the most of?
We sell vintage rings from the late 1800s – 1930s more than any other type of jewelry. There always seems to be high demand for vintage rings. It is not uncommon for some of our rings to sell before they are even listed in our store through our social media pages. Vintage rings make incredibly unique engagement rings, promise rings, & gifts. Shop their collection »
How do you wear vintage jewelry in an updated way?
We enjoy mixing jewelry of different eras together along with some special modern pieces for a unique look. Oftentimes we’ll wear all vintage jewelry with modern clothing. Many of the vintage jewels we own have a timeless look, and I doubt they will ever look outdated.
Why buy and sell vintage jewelry?
Vintage items are special because they each have their own history. We love imagining the stories behind the unique pieces and unraveling as much of the history as we can through research. Also, Laura has always been very fond of jewelry – especially vintage jewelry. When Laura was 4 months old, the first thing she reached for was her grandmother’s vintage 14k yellow gold ruby cluster ring. When our grandma passed away, Laura inherited the special ring, and it became the first piece in her antique jewelry collection. Buying & selling vintage is very meaningful & fulfilling to us both.
Is there any piece of jewelry you regret selling?
We feel seller’s remorse pretty often, because we love vintage jewelry so much. However, we usually don’t feel regret because we find our pieces special homes where they are adored again, and that is very fulfilling. We have a quote we often say to each other, “You can’t keep them all, but you can’t sell them all either.” If we feel a strong attachment to a piece, we will often keep it… at least for awhile.
What is your favorite design era?
Without question, our favorite design era is the Art Deco Period. Jewels from the 1920s – 1930s tend to have such elegance; we adore the intricate designs, geometric motifs, and attention to detail. We would be happy to wear Art Deco filigree rings on every finger!
What is your favorite piece of antique jewelry you've found?
Laura’s favorite piece of jewelry is an 18K white gold diamond cluster and sapphire ring by Belais. Laura wears it almost daily on her ring finger, kind of as an engagement ring to herself! Amanda’s absolute favorite piece is an emerald & diamond cluster ring in platinum that she purchased from Ageless Heirlooms. She also wears this ring almost daily on her ring finger. Who says you have to wait until your engaged to wear a big rock on your wedding finger, anyway?
What piece of jewelry should every woman have in her collection?
We think every lady should own a vintage locket. They can be personalized with pictures inside, or even monogrammed on the outside. They are very affordable in sterling silver or gold fill. For those looking for more luxury, they can also be found in solid gold with gems or diamonds. We feel lockets are really easy everyday pieces to wear, but they can also be dressed up with a little black dress.
