- 1). If you're listening to an online streaming radio service, like Pandora or SHOUTcast, and your web browser is functioning improperly, this will cause a loss of quality in the streaming radio station that you are listening to. Restart your browser and then log back into the service you're using and try connecting to that radio station again.
- 2). Restart the program you're using to listen to streaming radio. If you're using a program, like Apple's iTunes or WinAMP, to listen to a streaming radio station, any functionality errors with that program will cause quality loss when listening to the radio. Exit that program, give your computer a few seconds to free up the system resources it was using, and then try connecting again.
- 3). Reset your modem or router. The quality of streaming online radio will depend entirely on the strength of your Internet connection. If you unplug your Internet modem or router for a few seconds and let its memory clear, you can then have a fully functional Internet connection to use to listen to online radio. Once you've unplugged your Internet modem or radio, plug it back in and then try your connection again.
- 4). Try connecting to a stronger wireless network. If you're using your Windows Vista computer to connect to a wireless network that has poor signal strength, either move closer to the source of the signal or try a different network altogether. Click on the "Network and Sharing Center" icon in the Vista task bar and select a different, stronger Internet connection to connect to.
