- The smooth-top range is easy to clean. It also usually has adjustable burner sizes for smaller or larger pots and pans, and often is accompanied by digital clocks, timers and warning systems. (See Reference 1)
- The smooth-top Kenmore 96412, estimated at $800, is a consistently high-rated range that includes quick-heating, a warming zone and drawer, a dual burner and a broiler. The lower-end model, the Kenmore 96112, comes with the same features, minus the warming zone and drawer, at a cost around $530. (See Reference 2)
- Maytag's model, MER5752BAW, has adjustable self-cleaning options and a storage drawer. However, it is a fairly basic model with few extra features. It runs about $500. (See Reference 2)
- Hotpoint has several models of ranges, averaging from about $400 to $600. While it may lack in some broiling or boiling capabilities, it does well in baking and simmering. (See Reference 2)
- Coming in as one of the priciest smooth-top ranges available, the Electrolux EW30EF65GS offers baking, sauteing, simmering and broiling capabilities at a very high level. For around $2,400, the Electrolux includes controls, windows, pre-set settings and much more. (See Reference 2)
