How to Link a Mobile Phone to Facebook and Twitter

    Facebook

    • 1). Open your Web browser and navigate to the Facebook.com website. Type your email address and password into the corresponding fields in the upper right corner and click "Login."

    • 2). Click on "Account" in the top right corner of the page that displays. A drop-down box will appear. Scroll down and click "Account Settings."

    • 3). Click the "Mobile" tab and then click on the "Register for Facebook Text Messages" link. A pop-up window opens.

    • 4). Click the "Country" drop-down menu and select your country of residence from the list. Then, click the "Mobile Carrier" drop-down box, choose your mobile carrier and click "Next." Facebook will request a confirmation code.

    • 5). Text the letter "F" to "32665" using your mobile phone. Facebook will send a text message back to your phone with a confirmation code. Input the confirmation code into the available field on the Facebook website.

    • 6). Place a check mark next to "Add this phone number to my profile" and click "Next." Facebook will link your mobile phone with your Facebook account.

    • 7). Send text messages to "32665" (FBOOK) to update your Facebook status.

    Twitter

    • 1). Open your Web browser and navigate to the Twitter.com website. Input your username and account password into the designated fields in the top right corner and click "sign In."

    • 2). Click on your username in the top right corner of the next page. A drop-down menu will appear. Scroll down and click on "Settings."

    • 3). Click on the "Mobile" tab. Click the "Country/region" drop-down menu and select your country of residence from the list.

    • 4). Input your 10-digit mobile phone number (including area code) into the "Phone number" field. Click "Start." Note that you must also select your mobile carrier from a list of carriers if your cellular service provider is not in the United States.

    • 5). Text the word "GO" to the five-digit number that appears. Once Twitter receives the text message, your mobile phone will be linked with your Twitter account.

    • 6). Send text messages to the five-digit number that Twitter gave you in Step 5 to post status updates to your account.
