Microsoft PowerPoint, The Basic Programme For Public Presentations For A Computer Skills Beginner

In all of these seminars, the researcher makes his presentation to the audience (comprising students, lecturers, visitors, etc.) on PowerPoint displayed on a giant screen with the projector. This is what I mean when I say those who use PowerPoint, or where it is used. Obviously in the academia, PowerPoint is an absolute necessity. As a student, lecturer, professor (especially those who go abroad to hold presentations, or to publish their works), power point is what you want to know, and what you absolutely need to know.

Now talking about the academia, I'm going to run a series very soon titled "Computer Skills and The Academia", it is a series every student, lecturer, academician must not miss, it will transform and improve the academic career of those who follow the guides I'll be giving in those articles. Every academician must watch out for it. They are a great series. Tell the people in UNICAL, CRUTECH, UNIUYO, etc. to watch out for it. I'll tell you the tragic but funny story of a lecturer (Prof for that matter) who though a Professor had little or no computer skills, how he went abroad and earned himself some embarrassment by virtue of his ignorance on the computer.

You see, when I tell people to acquire computer skills, they tell you, after all, I have a typist! As if typing is the only thing that is done on the computer, what even typing is the only thing done on the computer? What if at a critical time that typist becomes unavailable, what do you do? But with the adequate tutorial software, and/or a trainer, even you can learn typing and become better, faster, more fluent, more accurate than even that typist of yours, I know and can say this from personal experience which I can show any person, any time! The story of that professor is a real funny one. So when you read from me every day here that you should acquire computer skills, know that those skills will be demanded of you someday! So kike I said, all people in the academia should watch out for those series, they are eye-opening!

Now, back to our PowerPoint. Project proposers, managers also use PowerPoint to show their projects, programmes for evaluation to an audience, like in press conferences, government supervisory teams, etc. This concerns and applies to politicians too. For example, when they need to show the level of infrastructural development they have made, or that they project to have made within a projected time frame, may be to their electorate, the public, or the press, or any other audience.

This is the relevance of PowerPoint to you. So as a student, lecturer, research, project manager, politician, advertiser, speaker, etc., you need to learn and master PowerPoint which you can do quite easily (with good guidance).
