- 1). Compose your header line with clear and concise information on your topic. Spammers use very generic terms and unnecessary punctuation.
- 2). Address your email with a personal greeting. Using a formalized business greeting that includes the recipient's name is much less likely to be filtered than "Dear Sir or Madam."
- 3). Keep the body of your email free of any unnecessary HTML or graphics. These not only distract your reader but are a common ploy used to create false clicks to malware.
- 4). Sign your email without the use of a pregenerated signature. You may still include your signature to relay business contact information, but a simple "Thank you" at the end of your email will help get you past the spammers.
- 5). If you do include your pregenerated signature, only use one hyperlink, if any. Multiple hyperlinks are common in spam emails and will trigger many common filters.
