Most tourists who visit the city of Chester do so in the space of a day, because it is very close to the Welsh city of Cardiff, while London or Liverpool are only between 40 minutes and 60 minutes away. 1st €" Arrive in the early morning and head straight to the city walls, which are the ancient Roman walls that were significant during the Roman occupation of England. The walls still stand prominently today, with several massive gates sparkling around the city centre. The entire length of the wall is about three kilometres, so visitors can easily stroll the wall and take in the information in under two hours.

2nd €" Once the walls and the large gates of the Roman Wall have been seen, it is time to move onto another of the historical sites of the city; the Chester Cathedral. This remarkable building was constructed in AD70, and apart from the renovations of its main fa§ade, has remained largely untouched. This is extraordinary when considering that the entire city was almost ruined by King Henry VIII during the 14th century.
