Common Side Effects

• As mentioned, there are certain side effects that have been reported while using this medication. Some of these side effects include headache, back pain, hoarseness, dry mouth, throat irritation, runny nose, nausea and upper respiratory tract infection. While these are considered the most common side effects associated with Qvar, they only affect a small number of users.
  
  

Severe Side Effects

• Unfortunately, there are also a number of severe side effects that can result from using this medication. Some of these side effects include hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightening of the chest, rash, swelling of the mouth and tongue, severe weight loss, fainting, severe dizziness, vomiting, unusual weakness and unusual white patches in the mouth. These side effects are also very rare and do not affect a large amount of users.
  
  

Important Safety Information

• Qvar aerosol inhalers will not stop an asthma attack once it is happening and is used only in the prevention of symptoms. If an asthma attack occurs and you do not have a bronchodilator inhaler nearby, please head directly to the nearest emergency room for treatment. Please avoid using Qvar anywhere near the eyes or nose. Please tell your dentist before receiving any oral hygiene care that you are currently using Qvar for asthma prevention.
  
  

Usage

• Always use Qvar exactly as prescribed by your doctor and never exceed the recommended dosage instructions written on the label. To administer the medication, place the inhaler tip directly between your lips and start to take a small breath. As you are taking that breath, press the canister and mouthpiece together simultaneously until the medication has released. Rinse your mouth out or gargle after using Qvar to prevent any adverse tastes left in the mouth.
