- 1). Download Skype at Skype.com, following the directions provided. Skype requires software to be downloaded to your computer, which will consume some of the computer's available memory. In addition, Skype charges for the phone call service. You can purchase Skype credits, or pay by the minute. A credit card is required to use this service.
- 2). Log on to Skype using the user name and password you set up. Click "Call phones" from the menu to reveal a dial pad. Attach the microphone or headset with microphone to your computer prior to dialing. Dial the collection agency's phone number, and proceed with your conversation.
- 3). Log on to Google.com. Click "Gmail" at the top of the homepage. Set up an account following the directions provided. Gmail is free, and is maintained on an external server, so your computer does not download the software directly. However, a voice plug-in addition must be downloaded so the collection agency can hear your end of the conversation. Calls within the United States and Canada are free.
- 4). Log in to your Gmail account and locate "Call phone" under the "Chat" section. Dial the collection agency phone number using the dial pad provided, and talk into the microphone once answered.
