- 1). Choose silk, dried or plastic flowers to match your wrapping paper. For instance, poinsettias would beautify any red, green or gold Christmas gift wrap. And, for example, white roses can add elegance to any color bridal gift wrap.
- 2). Wrap your present as your ordinarily would. If you choose to add ribbon, wrap one piece around the package in one direction, and another around the package, crossing over the first piece (in the shape of a plus sign).
- 3). Cut the stems from the flowers, leaving the remaining head and petals. If the petals are further down on the stems, cut them away and set them aside for now.
- 4). Choose where you want to put the flower heads. If you criss-crossed ribbon, you will want to put the flower heads in the center where the two ribbons meet.
- 5). Practice your flower arrangement on the table. Bunch the flowers together, alternating colors and sizes (if you are using more than one color or size). If you use petals, be sure they are sticking out from underneath the flower heads.
- 6). Heat up your hot glue gun, according to manufacturer instructions. For this project, you should only need one glue stick.
- 7). Dab a bit of hot glue directly on the bottom of the flowers or petals. Do not use too much. For instance, large flowers should need no more than a penny-sized dab, while smaller flowers may only need a pea-sized dab.
- 8). Immediately place petals and flower heads onto the package according to your practiced arrangement. Note: hot glue cools and hardens rather quickly, so you will need to act rapidly. Allow the glue to cool completely before giving the gift to its recipient.
