How to Make Ornament Hooks

    • 1). Snip your craft wire into 4-inch strips, cutting one strip for each ornament hook you plan to make.

    • 2). Bend the top of the hook using needle-nose pliers or by winding the hook around a round object, like a knitting needle, paintbrush or pencil. This "top" is the side that will hang off the tree, so leave enough space under the crook side to affix it to a branch.

    • 3). Crimp the bottom to create an S-hook. Use the needle-nose pliers. For extra security, circle the wire around on the bottom to create two loops, an inner and outer. The ornament will rest securely on the inner loop, much like a key rests on the inner loop of a key ring.

    • 4). Slide the bottom tail of the hook through your ornament's eye hole. Wind the ornament around until it rests on the inner loop and you can hold the ornament by the top loop, and it hangs straight down.

    • 5). Finish all hooks like this, then store or hang your ornaments.
