3 Tips to Get Over a Broken Heart

Love has the power to lift you up and break you apart without so much as a warning.
Having a broken heart is just like mourning the loss of a loved one, but its those feelings of rejection that can completely tear you down.
My last partner completely broke my heart and those struggles I faced are just as clear as if they happened yesterday.
Now I want to help you by giving you a few tips on how to get over a broken heart.
#1 Re-evaluate your goals for the future.
As you know, your plans for the future will have evaporated now that your partner has left you.
It's very crushing to think about those plans and realize they will never come to pass.
Now it's time to re-liberate yourself and replan what is going to happen in your life.
Plan things that will empower you and make you feel good about yourself.
Always wanted to take a trip somewhere? Ask a friend to go with you instead.
Always wanted to learn a certain activity? Start planning to make that happen.
Do things for yourself! #2 Appreciate the past but learn from your mistakes.
I have learned to look at the past with fond memories, something I would never trade for anything.
The past is the past however and one of the best things you can do is to acknowledge what has happened, find out what you can learn from your mistakes and take that aboard in your next relationship.
Write your feelings down and put them aside.
You will still be hurting but it will ease your pain a bit to know that you have done all you could and now its time to move on.
#3 Limit or resist contact with your ex.
All too often we feel it's OK to jump straight into friendly relations with an ex partner.
This is in fact not a great idea as your feelings will still be strong for that other person and you will not be able to enjoy your time together.
Be careful as you'll be able to judge by how you feel while with that person, to know whether you can or should be friends with them.
Sometimes relationships end because they need to, other times they end because the people involved have stopped being able to communicate with one another.
When this happens, hostility will take over and as much as their may still be love left, that love is now clouded by misjudgement and contempt.
