In the weeks following a breakup, lots of guys ask themselves: "Hmm, what if my ex girlfriend wants me back?".
In lots of cases (especially if you instigated the breakup), your ex will be interested in getting back with you.
As much as you like her, you don't want to make the same mistake twice.
Here's how to avoid a second breakup: First, make a list of reasons why you broke up with your girlfriend in the first place.
If you're saying "my ex girlfriend wants me back", then chances are she thinks she can change.
Take a careful look at the reasons for your breakup and put a check next to each item that either you or your ex could change.
If you're left with a list of mostly unchangeables, then your makeup will probably end with a second breakup.
However, if your list survives this analysis, then you need to start talking to your ex about how things need to be different.
Ask yourself: "If my ex girlfriend wants me back, then what does she need to do?".
Be honest with your ex and don't ask for things that are impossible.
For example, if your previous relationship involved cheating by either person, then it's reasonable to ask your ex to prove that you can trust her before committing to another relationship.
It isn't, however, a good idea to tell her that she can't talk to any other guys except for you.
It's always a good idea to spend two to three weeks away from your ex, even if she wants you back.
Makeups require careful thought and planning in order to avoid making the same mistakes.
Time away from each other helps you both approach the situation objectively.
