The Vegetarian Diet - Where Do You Start?

Your whole life has been lived eating a "regular Western diet.
" Why would you want to switch to being a vegetarian now? There could be many reasons.
Do you look and feel good most of the time? Do you wake up energized, or do you wake up tired and sluggish? Is your blood pressure within a healthy range? Are your cholesterol and blood sugar ranges normal? If they're not, consider what you've been eating before and think about the benefits of a vegetarian diet for your health.
Food for a body, is what gasoline is for a car.
The human body is a machine, and needs clean fuel to keep it running in peak condition.
If you put watered down gasoline in a car, the performance of the car becomes more sluggish, and stops performing at its peak.
How do you feel after eating? Do you feel energized, as if you've fed your body what it needs? Or do you feel tired and sluggish? Do you often need a nap after eating? Is that what food is supposed to do for us, make us tired, sluggish or sleepy? I don't think so.
Food should nourish and feed the body and leave us energized and refreshed.
A vegetarian diet can provide a remedy, alternative treatment, or preventative for high blood pressure, Type II diabetes, high cholesterol, or stress-related ailments.
When we have high blood pressure, Type II diabetes, high cholesterol and other stress-related ailments, it's like a car engine that hasn't been tuned or isn't running on the best type of gasoline it needs to run efficiently.
Your body needs the right kind of fuel to run at it's peak efficiency, and when you're eating animal foods with high fat contents or loaded with antibiotics, you are not giving your body the highest quality fuel.
Try eating vegetarian or vegan, raw foods, or organic foods for just a few days, then a week, then work on stretching it to a month.
Notice any changes for yourself.
See if you don't feel different, more mentally acute and more physically fit and energized.
Reverse the portion sizes you've been eating, and make meat more of a side dish, until it gets smaller and smaller and disappears altogether.
