Whether you're the dumper or the dumpee, breaking up is never fun.
It's emotionally draining for both parties.
Sometimes it feels like you'll never be able to get over it, but trust it'll happen for you, probably a lot sooner than you think.
How you handle yourself and the situation during the following days and weeks can really make all of the difference in the world.
If you feel like you're stuck between a rock and a hard place, remember that there are so many others going through the same thing your are right now.
You aren't alone.
Follow my tips and suggestions and you'll be on your way to feeling whole once again.
1.
Get yourself up and out of the house.
Moping around you apartment for days and days will only worsen the situation.
Now is the time to catch up with your friends and family.
Call people you haven't seen or talked to in a while, meet your best friend for a drink, get coffee with your mom.
Get plenty of social interaction and you'll at least be able to distract yourself from the situation.
2.
While out with your friends, feel free to vent about the situation.
As long as it doesn't drag out for months and months, your friends will understand and lend a sympathetic ear.
3.
Give yourself sometime to mourn the end of your relationship.
If you completely distance yourself emotionally, it could damage future relationships and other changes at love.
Just realize that the sadness will eventually pass, but it's a process.
4.
Do something fun for yourself.
If you enjoy watching movies, have a movie night for yourself.
Maybe you need a shopping weekend.
Choose something you love to do and dedicate a weekend to it and invite some friends to partake.
5.
Start dating again.
Don't jump right into dating a week later, but when you feel ready, dating someone new can really help you get over your ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend.
