Goal Setting Advice: Success Doesn"t Always Come Easy

It's that time of the year when just about everybody sits down and starts to think about some goals that they might have for the next 365 days and if that is something that you are doing, that is a good thing.
However, sometimes people end up with unreal expectations and that can be kind of a problem.
They want to be able to achieve their goals, but they seem to forget that setting goals isn't always a cakewalk and more importantly, achieving those goals can be hard at times.
BE EASY ON YOURSELF - Sometimes it can be so easy to get caught up in the idea of being able to get what it is that you want, that you can kind of get a little too hard on yourself by making your goals a little too difficult for yourself to achieve.
For example, if you decide that you want to get wealthier in the next year, having unreal expectations can make that seem impossible to do and it can make you ignore the small successes that you might have, like saving that first thousand dollars.
You want to be easy on yourself as far as not making your goals too difficult.
I know that there are always people that tell you to set the loftiest goals that you can and sometimes that is a good thing, but sometimes that just sets you up to be disappointed.
And it can set you up to ignore the little successes that you have.
GET HELP WHEN YOU CAN - Let's say that you are a guy who has a goal of being able to actually find someone that you can have a relationship with this year.
That is a pretty good goal to have, but it can be hard to achieve when you don't have any help.
If you need help in any area, don't be afraid to take it.
For example, maybe you work a lot of hours and therefore have a hard time meeting women, but you also have a friend who is already pretty good in that area.
You might want to enlist that friends help to get out and meet people.
Don't let your pride get in the way.
Getting help to achieve a goal like that might mean the difference between ending the year alone or ending it in the kind of relationship that you actually DO want to be in.
