The Power of Stillness

Taking time to breathe, taking time to do nothing and taking time out to do nothing have become something of a cliche - which is shame.
When you choose to put aside time to connect with your inner being you will find yourself calmer, relaxed and poised.
It doesn't have to be for long.
Even five minutes each day will bring you benefits.
And everyone no matter how busy they are has got five minutes.
Find somewhere you know you won't be distracted or disturbed.
And just do whatever feels good for you.
Perhaps coloring in is peaceful for you, or taking a slow walk in an empty park.
Anything at all.
There is great power in stilling you mind and slowing down your thoughts.
You will be able to hear your intuition more clearly when you take the time to tune in.
Nature is a great place to lose yourself in.
Tune in to one sense at a time.
Look around you and revel in all the shapes and colors surrounding you.
Listen to the sound of water or birds or insects humming.
Listen to your own heart beat and the sound of your footsteps.
Feel the wind on your face and the sun on your shoulders.
Feel your arms swinging as you wander slowly along.
Put all worries aside and just focus as best you can on being in the present moment.
The more you practice being still the more time you will want to spend.
It really does feel that good.
Things you were worried about before won't seem so daunting now.
You will find yourself being slower to think angry thoughts.
And you will find yourself being more understanding.
Tap into the power of being still and re-connect with your inner being.
It's a place you will want to return to more often.
